We have discovered that cheap, dangerous imitations of our products with inferior burn times and a dirty, crumbly, potentially explosive composition, are now present in some markets. These fraudulently carry the Swift-Lite logo and the designation “Made in England”. However they are not made in England and are not our product. Because of this we cannot take any responsibility for any burns, explosions, fires or any other damage caused by using these inferior products.
We are successfully pursuing fraudsters via our lawyers and the appropriate British Commercial Consulates and will also be prosecuting, via our international lawyers, retailers who sell counterfeit products under our name.
We have conducted tests on some of these counterfeit products and have discovered huge quality differences. These frequently refer to the weight and composition of the charcoal which in turn impact significantly on the heat producing qualities and the tablet burn time.
Just some examples:
1. A 33 mm tablet that weighs 4.3 grams compared to our 33 mm tablet that
weighs 6.5 grams.
2. A roll of 10 x 40 mm tablets that weighs only 108 grams compared to our
roll of 10 x 38 mm tablets that weighs 116 grams.
As of 1 August 2004 our products carry the Queen’s Awards for Export. This is a very distinctive and trade mark protected logo. Misuse or abuse or copying of this logo in any way at all is a breach of royal warrants and will be prosecuted by ourselves and by the Queen’s Awards solicitors.
